For Your Stay

Daily Necessities
Personal items: 4-5 towels, 2 bath towels, tissues, breast pads, breastfeeding cotton gauze, approximately 10 handkerchiefs, toiletries, drinking cup, cutlery of choice, coins, travel alarm clock, wet wipes, toilet seat sanitizer, personal seal, indoor footwear (non-slip soles recommended, avoid slippers and sandals), headphones (for watching TV), writing tools
Items Provided by the Hospital
Sanitary napkins (medium, large, extra large), 2 pairs of postpartum underwear, alcohol pads, etc.

  • –If the provided allotment is insufficient, please bring your own.
Clothing
Postpartum underwear, 1 or 2 button down full length dressing gowns, 1 gown, hara obi (a pregnancy sash made of a long white cotton strip), 1 waistnipper (a hara obi can also be used), 2 or 3 nursing bras
Nursing Items
2-3 nursing bras, breast pads, 10 muslin squares

Japan Obstetric Compensation System for Cerebral Palsy
Keio University Hospital is registered as a participant of the Japan Obstetric Compensation System for Cerebral Palsy.

We promptly provide monetary compensation to the families of babies with severe cerebral palsy related to brain injuries during childbirth. In addition to advancing prevention and early detection, we are improving the quality of maternity care by analyzing the causes of accidents and providing beneficial information that will aid in the prevention of similar cases in the future.

  • –For infection prevention, children under the age of 15 are prohibitied from entering. If you have cold-like symptoms or other ailments such as diarrhea, fever, or eye redness, please consult with a nurse. We may not be able to approve your visit depending on your condition.
  • –The above visiting hours may vary according to breastfeeding times. Please confirm visiting hours with a nurse.
  • –Viewing through the nursey window is possible at any time within 24 hours after birth (except during breastfeeding).
  • –Babies are fed between 2:45p.m. and 3:30p.m. Fathers are asked to leave the room during this time.
  • –Nursery window viewing may not be possible depending on the type of room.
  • –Please set your phone to airplane mode when taking pictures.

Guidlines

  • –For infection prevention, children under the age of 15 (who may be carriers for measles, rubella, chickenpox, or mumps) are prohibitied from entering.
  • –If you have cold-like symptoms or other ailments such as diarrhea, fever, or eye redness, please consult with a nurse. We may not be able to approve your visit depending on your condition.
  • –Your identification as a parent will be verified using your ID band.
  • –The father must wash his hands and put on protective wear before holding the baby. Protective wear is not required of the mother.
  • –Before use, cameras and video recorders must be cleaning with alcohol pads (which can be found in the hallway).
  • –Please set your phone to airplane mode when taking pictures.
  • –Always keep valuables on you.
  • –Depending on feeding and changing times, you visitation time may be delayed.
  • –Upon arrival, please check in with a nurse.
